Blog to Business Success
Your business is your livelihood. You have your regular customers that come in each week or so for the products they need. You also have those occasional drop-ins that need a certain this or that and happen to be passing your shop at the right moment. Your reputation in your local community has blossomed and people know who you are and what you do.
Things look bright for your business. However, in a world that is increasingly more virtual, with businesses offering your products online, the need to 'take a ride to the (local) store' for a product is decreasing. So, as a brick-and-mortar business in a virtual world, how do you compete?
Blogging Your Way to More BUZZ
You may have heard of web-based businesses using blogs to promote their products and services, to connect with new prospective clients and to help retain new ones. It's very true that most web-based businesses use a business blog to promote their products, to announce sales or special deals to their target market and to build their businesses.
It's also very true that any around the globe, let alone the corner-store or local business, needs to use a business blog to let the world know what they do and how well they do it. The purpose of blogging is to create enough BUZZ about your company and your products/services that you build your brand as the go-to source in your field. In advertising, this is referred to as being 'front-of-mind' to your target market, and is vital to the success of any business in today's global and highly competitive markets.
How to Get Started
There are three things you have to consider before you begin blogging.
- Which Blogging Service to Use? WordPress, Blogger, Weblog are three free services available online.
- The Goals for your Blog. Informational, Promotional, New Client Outreach, Current Client Retention or a combination of these.
- What Will You Say and How Will You Say It? Your goals will help define your blog topics, but the tone of your message can drive the response to your posts.
